Playtech was established in 2000 and since then have proven themsevles to be a major players among software providers for online gambling. Their objective is not only to develop online casino software but to also work hard into the development and production of bingo, poker, kiosk type and skill based gaming systems.
In 2005 Playtech became public with an IPO on the London Stock Exchange to order to raise the money for future growth and improvement of the company and to be able to merger other gambling software development companies, and finally, to establish and support company’s reputation among both gaming industry and players.
The IPO was doing very well until the appearance of 2006 UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act) which passed and Playtech had to make a public statement that they won’t be able to accept players from the United States any more. They had to do this in order to prevent any potential liablity issues such a transparent public company like Playtech could encounter from allowing customer form the US to play at their online casinos after the UIGE act.
Playtech is a very persistent company and they try to get involved into all eares. They maintain a good strategy by developing products for all areas of online gambling from online poker to land based gaming operations like the kiosks they currently working on.
